I loved ‘If I stay’ and the follow up book ‘Where she went’ so when I heard that Gayle Forman has a new book out, I was very excited. Both books were a must read, and according to the reviews so far, ‘Just One Day’ is too.
The synopsis is as follows:
When sheltered American good girl Allyson “LuLu” Healey first meets laid-back Dutch actor Willem De Ruiter at an underground performance of Twelfth Night in England, there’s an undeniable spark. After just one day together, that spark bursts into a flame, or so it seems to Allyson, until the following morning, when she wakes up after a whirlwind day in Paris to discover that Willem has left. Over the next year, Allyson embarks on a journey to come to terms with the narrow confines of her life, and through Shakespeare, travel, and a quest for her almost-true-love, to break free of those confines.
Just One Day is the first in a sweepingly romantic duet of novels. Willem’s story—Just One Year—is coming soon.
Ok, truthfully, I wasn’t completely sold by this synopsis alone, but after reading the reviews, and having read Gayle’s other works, I am confident this is one I will really enjoy. If I stay was truly amazing. I’ve added ‘Just One Day’ to my ‘To Read’ on Goodreads. I have a big back log of books I want to read, so I won’t get to this one any time soon, but I definitely will be reading it.
If you haven’t read Gayle’s books before then I highly Recommend ‘If I stay.’
