Waiting On Wednesday (19): The Body Electric By Beth Revis.

New WoW

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine. It’s a way to share the upcoming releases that we’re excited about. This week I have chosen The Body Electric by Beth Revis. It releases October 6th 2014.

Synopsis From Goodreads:

The future world is at peace.

Ella Shepherd has dedicated her life to using her unique gift—the ability to enter people’s dreams and memories using technology developed by her mother—to help others relive their happy memories.

But not all is at it seems.

Ella starts seeing impossible things—images of her dead father, warnings of who she cannot trust. Her government recruits her to spy on a rebel group, using her ability to experience—and influence—the memories of traitors. But the leader of the rebels claims they used to be in love—even though Ella’s never met him before in her life. Which can only mean one thing…

Someone’s altered her memory.

Ella’s gift is enough to overthrow a corrupt government or crush a growing rebel group. She is the key to stopping a war she didn’t even know was happening. But if someone else has been inside Ella’s head, she cannot trust her own memories, thoughts, or feelings.

So who can she trust?

Why I Picked It?

This cover is so pretty, I love it! And I loved Across The Universe (though I am yet to read the rest of the books in the series) and this one sounds like something I would love too. I really enjoy Beth’s writing style and have faith that this will be just as well written as her first book.

You can add it to your Goodreads here.

What about you? What are you waiting on?

  1. I only came across Beth Revis after seeing her conversations with Lauren DeStefano on twitter 🙂 I should try her books one day!
I’m waiting on Mortal Heart by Robin LaFevers! Great series!

  2. Wow, I had no idea she was bringing out a new book, super excited for this one now as well. I love that it’s not actually a paranormal but includes science fiction to explain her ‘gift’ and being able to enter peoples dreams. This sounds like my cuppa tea. Thanks so much for sharing Rochelle ❤

    1. I’m pretty sure she is bringing this one out herself, which is why you probably haven’t heard of it, but yeah, I’m so excited for it. Hope you will be able to get a copy and that you enjoy it 🙂
