Hey everyone,
Is it just me or is this year flying by? I can’t believe it’s May already! I’ve now been querying for over a month and that doesn’t sound that long, but it feels like I’ve been querying for months. I’ve heard back from about half of the agents I’ve queried so far. I’m hoping there will good news to report soon, but then again from the ‘I’ve got an agent’ posts I’ve been reading these things usually take months and months and many more queries than I’ve submitted so far.
This week I worked on chapters 4, 5, 6, and 7 of my YA sci-fi Rift. The good news is that I’m still really enjoying reading it. It’s kind of all I can think about at the moment and all I want to work on. I’d really like to write and submit a few short stories, which I haven’t done in forever, but whenever I sit down to write I’m drawn to Rift so I work on that. I usually like to juggle my projects so it’s a strange feeling for me to be enjoying only working on one thing.
I guess I’m not technically working on just one thing since I am also working on the YA sci-fi serial I post here on the blog, The Amberly Chronicles. I just posted Episode 13. If you love YA sci-fi you can check it out HERE.

Ooh it sounds like you’re doing really well with your novel! WHOHOO! And yes, I cannot believe it’s already May! How crazy is that?! I feel like it’s still February or something.

I’m really missing the A-Z Challenge! More so the daily routine, the pre-scheduled “prompt” (the prompt being the letter in this case) and how it forced me to write. I’m enjoying getting back into more creative writing, having more time to work on my novel, but I’m going to start poking around for other writing challenges and/or prompts. I’ve found a few flash fiction and prompt challenges, “The Daily Prompt” is intriguing and Friday Fictioneers has been recommended. Do you have any recommendations?
