Happy New Year!

SAMSUNG

I cannot believe it is already 2018! That is crazy! Most people use this time of year to set goals and declare resoultions. I usually like to declare resolutions of my own, but this year I am going to do away with resolutions and instead declare my theme for the year. It is something I learnt from a mum blogger that I follow A Mother Far From Home. She gave away resolutions and now uses a word or theme to help guide her goals for the year.

My word for the year is….

THRIVE.

I feel like all my life I have been stuggling just to survive, and this makes me sad. I am sick of being in this state. This is the year I want to thrive in every aspect of my life and enjoy my journey.

So I am going to use this one word to guide my 2018. I already feel like it is going to be a good one. I want to laugh more, hug more, write more, submit more stories, blog more, read more, relax more and have balance. To try my hardest to be the best I can be.

What about you? Have you heard of this concept before? Do you have a word that you want to declare to represent your 2018 goals?

  1. I love this idea! Thrive sounds fantastic. You could print the word out in big bold text and stick to to your fridge, or somewhere so you can see it as soon as you open your eyes in the morning etc.

I’m trying the think of what mine would be; Conquer. Conquer and complete all my half-done projects (both in my home and work life). Conquer and destroy/overcome all my self-hate and self-doubt.

I am looking forward to seeing you Thrive this year! 🙂

    1. Thank you! I hadn’t even thought about printing it out and placing somewhere I will see it all the time. I am going to do that.
      Conquer is a great one.

  2. I’ve actually seen this on quite a few blogs Rochelle, picking one word as a guide rather than resolutions. I’m not one for resolutions or long term goals but I think if I had to narrow it down to a word word wish for the year, it would be contentment. I feel as though that everything after that is achievable ❤
